Family Photography – Diane and Disneyland

Diane is a proud grandmother of two from Oregon. To immortalize her grandkids first time to California or Disneyland, she called me up and I spent the first few hours of the day with them.

This was taken on Space Mountain. I couldn’t see anything!

And the family insisted I ended the shoot with this. I still don’t know what movie it’s from…

Engagement Photography – Laura and Cesar at Disneyland

I love doing photography at Disneyland! Laura and Cesar were fun to shoot with and there are way too many good pictures to show.

And they got me on the teacups for the first time since I went to Disneyland at age 5…

Engagement Photography – Loryn and Todd

Yesterday I shot Loryn and Todd at the Fullerton Arboretum and then at Downtown Disney in Anaheim.

After that we took the short hop down to Downtown Disney in Anaheim. There, we had the Grand Californian Hotel, the Rose Garden, and all the shops around the boardwalk.

After that we stopped at the Wine Cellar near the Disneyland Hotel to get a glass of wine and finish the day.

Diana and Norberto

I did a half day of wedding photography today for Diana and Norberto. Living in New Jersey, they had their wedding here in Southern California in Long Beach. Here is the St. Lucy Catholic Church and Norberto being a little nervous before the ceremony (of the ceremony, not of getting married I hope!).

Since they had a small wedding party (most of their friends and family are back east), they had a small reception dinner at the Napa Rose in the Grand Californian Hotel at Disneyland (near Downtown Disney). We did some couple shots there in the lobby of the hotel.

Engagement shoot – Irene and Jimmy at Disneyland

This Monday I went to Disneyland with Irene and Jimmy for their engagement photography (Orange County in this case). Even though I’m not doing their photography (I’m doing their videography instead), I helped them get photos that more represent them as a couple, as opposed to the standard and traditional posed shots. Here is what happened:

Normally I’d complain about Jimmy ruining a perfect photograph of Irene, but their silliness was so refreshing! These two are completely in love with each other. Next on the list was Toon Town, which is absolutely a photographer’s dream. There were so many artistic and fun photographic opportunities.

And no I did not ask them to do that to Minnie Mouse!

Even waiting in line was fun with these two:

We were waiting in line for this ride, the shortest coaster ride on earth (but still really fun)

After that we headed over to that island (is it Tom Sawyer’s Island?). I used to play in the treehouse and fort as a kid, and now look…I’m still a kid at heart!

Jimmy wanted a photograph where his head was supporting her butt (his words, not mine)

That last one was actually in line for Indiana Jones. The texture on the walls and creepy lighting actually made for a great photograph.

And no trip to Disneyland is complete without a ride on Thunder Mountain. I guess you could call this a “posed” photograph?

On main street while waiting for fireworks.

After the fireworks, Disneyland set it up to have it “snow” on main street. This was much warmer than going to Canada for photography!

And that last photo is in the Disney Store at the end of a long, tiring, and absolutely fun day.
