What do you do on a boring Sunday night? Well, it’s not so boring when you have a new Octabox and a eager amateur model for a girlfriend!

Finally strobist has reached this part of the west coast. We had about 3 models and 12 photographers hungry to test out our flash gear. Here are my results:

I don’t have black straws. or good cardboard. and I’m lazy. So I made the quickest snoot in the world with what comes with every flash (Canon at least, I think Nikon has it too).

Judy and I did our first destination wedding in San Jose (south of Los Gatos) and traveled up early to enjoy San Francisco for a day (and I like being early).

Kat turned 27 today (my age) up in Pasadena. I met her at UCLA and like the photo geek that I am I took a bunch of pictures. You can’t catch me anywhere without a camera, and a few extra lens, and a flash unit, and spare batteries.

My beautiful girlfriend…

I had setup a temporary photo booth in a closet, setting up the camera to take pictures with my laptop outside the closet. The girls LOVED it!
