Fashion – citygirls – Shasta

Tonight I shot Shasta for my little citygirls project.  We started at my place, since she needed some studio headshots.   Shasta trains horses while she attends school.  So if you see horseshoes, they are not for luck; she has one for every time that she has been kicked by a horse (5 total).

After that we headed to downtown Los Angeles for the real pictures.  I wanted a casual look, thus the tank top and jeans.

This strays a little from my original intentions of a grungy, urban feel to the shoot.  This one borders the ethereal and heavenly.

and for the record, Lightroom was used in the post, but there was no photoshopping (I didn’t even remove any blemishes and what not).  I’m kind of a purist that way.  I try to nail the lighting.  Only three of the images above are shot with natural light, which was done because the ambient light was way too good to pass up.  Oh yeah, I also was my own lighting assistant on the whole shoot!

Amazing stuff! If you don’t mind me asking, what was the light source you used? I know your first round you used a 580ex I’m assuming off camera, is that the same here? Also, it appears you’re using a wide angle lens for all your shots, the bokeh is really nice! You’re truly an inspiration!

Tips on using this blog

I've setup most of the articles on this site to have links to all the photos from any given shoot. Make sure to click on the individual photography galleries (usually as links after the images, but before the comments). This helps establish consistency and it also shows how each wedding or engagement photography session may vary from couple to couple.

now what? you can go back up and see more pictures, but if you are ready give me call
